Montford Park

Enjoy the neighborhood feel and tree-lined streets of the Montford Park area near Park Road Shopping Center. Montford Park includes the neighborhoods of Ashbrook, Selwyn Park, Madison Park, Collingwood and Colonial Village near the intersection of Park Road and Woodlawn Road.

At Park Road Shopping Center, you can explore the gardens of Blackhawk Hardware, find your warrior pose at CorePower Yoga, get a manicure at Polished, or grab a latte at Amelie’s French Bakery or a Guinness at Sir Edmond Halley’s, both in the shopping center’s quieter back lot. 

Some of the city’s best restaurants like Flour Shop, Osteria LuCa, Rock Salt and Good Food on Montford are nearby, along with nightlife and entertainment spots like Angry Ale’s, 10 Park Lanes, Jeff’s Bucket Shop and Moosehead Grill on Montford Drive. 

Behind Park Road Shopping Center, hop on the Little Sugar Creek Greenway to Freedom Park and north to Uptown Charlotte. Right next to Freedom Park, you can visit Discovery Place Nature, a museum with exhibits, live animals, a butterfly pavilion and other nature activities for kids. 

Most of the Montford Park area is zoned for the high-performing schools of Myers Park High School, Alexander Graham Middle School and Selwyn Elementary School, located on a central campus off Runnymede Lane.

Uptown Charlotte is just four miles north of Montford Park and upscale SouthPark Mall is just two miles away. Jump on the LYNX light rail line and ride the train into Uptown and north to NoDa and University City or south down to Ballantyne and the South Carolina state line.
