The SouthPark neighborhood is located six miles south of Uptown Charlotte and named for the upscale SouthPark Mall, which, at nearly 1.8 million square feet, is the largest shopping mall in the state. The mall is home to many high-end designers such as Burberry, Saint Laurent, Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus.
Phillips Place, the premiere open-air retail icon in Charlotte, as well as Specialty Shops SouthPark, are both just across the street. Meanwhile, nearby Symphony Park amphitheater is home to Charlotte Symphony’s Summer Pops concerts.
SouthPark is also a posh residential area and acts as one of the larger business districts in the city, with a number of mid-rise office buildings. It is served by SouthPark Regional Library, which underwent a major renovation in 2017 that included technology improvements, expanding meeting spaces for children and adults and creating a self-service café and outdoor area.
When the weather is nice, grab your tennis gear and head to Park Road Park to play on one of its 12 tennis courts, basketball courts or playgrounds. Make sure to visit the pond and walking trails, or hop on the Little Sugar Creek Greenway, which runs through the park down to the James K. Polk State Historic Site in Pineville.
Pure Barre and AIR Aerial Fitness are also ideal places to achieve a little sweat equity. When you work up an appetite, try the tantalizing menu at Café Monte French Bakery and Bistro. SouthPark is full of delicious dishes including the Spanish-style tapas and paella at Bulla Gastrobar, spicy Chinese favorites at Baoding, mouthwatering seafood at Bricktop’s or a prime cut of meat at Oak Steakhouse.
Live a luxurious life in SouthPark!
